New Website Up!!!

Weaving at Gila River
It's been an interesting journey, with the help of Susan Ottwell of  http://sottwell.com,  my website has a new look.  It isn't totally functional yet and I need to add some pages and shopping cart, but it is up!  Feel free to take a look and definitely give some constructive criticism where you see the need.  We'll have menu buttons soon!   http://chamomileconnection.com/

For Those Interested

I want to apologize for not posting and sharing lately. I fell hiking in Vasquez Rocks, CA earlier this month and have been sort of out of commission with a broken wrist.  I'll be working on my website and try to get the new format up soon!

Sewing with Handwovens

The Sewing with Handwovens with Carry Wilcox was a great experience.  I'll post some photos soon.  I thought Carry did a great job getting everyone to have a finished project and the group was totally cohesive.  We made a lovely jacket with a handwoven front panel, and some people used all handwoven fabric in the jacket, some used commercial fabric.  I'm ready to do another one!

Spring

I'm sorry not to have posted for so long.  First my computer died and I'm learning a new one...without a card reader to post pictures.  Second we went on a trip to visit our daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren.  I stopped along the way at the Fiber Event in Greencastle and had a lovely time there as a vendor.  So the latest is our garden.  Being at such a high altitude and in the mountains our climate is not conducive to gardening, as well as the dogs and our newest puppy who think the garden beds are for digging.  So, for mother's day I had lovely help from husband Will and son Jeremy, fencing and getting the greenhouse together.  I thought I'd share the progress.

You can see our greenhouse is without ends as yet. We have a raised bed with plastic for warmth nearer to the house

The coldframe next to the greenhouse, which will house the tomatoes soon, has squash ready to plant!

I added some color with calla lilies this spring

We find pottery shards on the property. These were found in the garden area

Traveling Inkle Loom

This is a loom tat we originally got the directions from the Small Looms book.  I had Will make it bigger and add some new features to it.  It's turned out great!  He's even made a lovely shuttle to go with it.

Drip dry and freezing colors

So, do you think it might have been cold last night and early this morning...these are icicles...I left the fiber out on the line all night....

Spring in the Mimbres

We are finally seeing signs of spring...it's still 20 degrees in the morning and 70 by afternoon...so the plants must think it's spring!  Actually we were able to root plants for a while...love this time of year! Today it was 24 degrees when I got to take the puppy out and stay outside because it was still dark and the coyotes and a skunk were near!! But it didn't feel so cold...funny.

can you believe how short the hyacinth is!! smells wonderful

first signs of the columbine

pretty pink in the yard...very very small, I almost missed them!

the poppy is going to try it again....usually it doesn't like the location and I'm totally tempted to move it, but the it will surly die....
